Printing a message - optional message

$

I am running Pegasus Mail Ver 4.70 on Windows XP.

For the last little while, when I ask to print a message, I receive a message (which I have stopped reading) saying would I like to try using it now (sorry, I forget what "it" is). I always said, "Yes", at which point, the print dialogue would appear and I could ask for just page 1 to print (for example).

Tonight, I decided to click on "Do not show this message again", since I was always saying "Yes". And it shot off and printed the whole message, including page 2, which I did not need.

How can I get back that reminder message??? I'd rather have the ability to change the printing options. I don't mind having to say "Yes" each time.

 Thank you for your help

PMail v4.63 fails to open in Win8 Pro, 64-bit after Disk Cleanup and Defrag

My recent thread "PM v4.63 fails to open in Win 7 Pro after Disk Cleanup and Defrag" started 25 Feb 2016 seems to be sorted.

In that thread I stated I would look at a Win 8 Pro 64-bit Fujitsu laptop  with PMail on which I had run the same two utilities Disk Cleanup and Auslogics Defrag.   They caused the same PM "Mailbox Lock" and an incomplete opening of  genealogical program TreeDraw, which then shuts down as Windows cannot find the error.   The act of using "Hibernate" to close the laptop just produced the hourglass for a few seconds on trying to open PMail.   Also the desktop icons for Desk Clean-up and Auslogics turned to a blank white.   Shutting down the laptop and re-booting allowed PMail to open to a "Mailbox Lock" and I could click Continue button to open PMail..

Why I had the PMail problems on reflection  now seems correlated to trying to down load "Important Updates", after the second Tuesday in February, which down load process kept failing.   Eventually some installed and I then ran the other two utilities, followed by the PMail problem as described.  [I have good broadband ca 16 Mbps]

I tried running System File Checker and extracting the text as sfcdetails.txt from a CBS.log file.   This found apparently six corrupt files, which could not be repaired.    Some web sites suggested running SFC.exe at least three times, which I did to no avail.   PMail still would not operate correctly on Hibernate - nor were the other problems cured.   Others suggest that some Updates are corrupted.

Some web pages suggested running a Windows utility DISM (Deployment Image Servicing & Management) with an internet connection active.    I was not sure what this might do, so I checked in Control Panel for System Restore and found there was a restore dated 9 Feb which coincided with the attempts to run Windows Update.  [I think the Update process always creates a restore point prior to installing updates)

I let Restore run and I was very pleased to see the desktop icons as before and PMail working normally, either from a Windows 8 Shut-down or Hibernate.

When I open Pegasus and sign in under my usual name, it acts the way it's supposed to, with that little counter for the new mail folder, but the Pegasus application screen is nowhere. I've tried cascading the windows, it's not there. I can see it when I alt-tab, and I make it the active window, I can see it on the task bar but have no 'move' option. I can see it's working - my NEW MAIL flag shows that there is new mail. It's just gone.

I have more than one email account and it works perfectly fine on the other one which I hardly ever use.

PMICAL 2.33 has Access Violation Error

Hello,

I am trying to install the pmical Addon for Pegasus, but when I try to open a mail attachment containing .ics or the program itself, I get an "Access violation" (at address 004BE485 in module pmical.exe). I tried this on several PCs (all Win7 Prof. 64bit) with Pegasus 4.71.

Has anyone had this before or any idea how to get around it? I could not find anything about this.

The latest version of Pmical 2.50 is now available from the downloads area at Url:

Please ensure you read the PmicalHelp.htm before replacing any existing versions of Pmical.  This version of Pmical includes a TimeZone database in order to display both sender and recipient time zones, and switches automatically when Daylight/Standard time changes occur.

Fixes have been created to handle yet more data problems.

Problem setting up a peer to peer workgroup network with v4.63

I have Pegasus v4.63 installed on Win 7 Pro 64 desktop. I ran wssetup.exe on a  Win 7 Pro 64 laptop networked peer to peer. wssetup did not ask me for the address of the a computer and created a shortcut as if local.

C:\PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -roam -A -I Admin

I modified it but the following didn't work either:

\\Dell-T1700\PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -roam -A -I Admin

(The user you are attempting to 'become' (Admin) does not exist on this system.)

The file configuration on the desktop pc is:
C:\pmail\mail\Admin
C:\pmail\programs

Also, my V4.63 is recently installed. Now I see that v4.71 is the official version. Will v4.71 work better with the network? What does it take to upgrade?

Gmail doesn't look right in my Pegasus 4.63 interface

Please help me understand he configuration Gmail in my mailbox. I added Gmail IMAP -- a picture is attached to this post. I see what looks like repetition of Gmail trays in two different hierarchies. The "duplicate" trays differ in the number of emails they contain. I think they have to be rearranged but I don't understand what I have.

converting email from incredimail to pegasus

$

My Dad uses incredimail and is having an issue where downloaded email does not get cleared from the server, even though the options say not to keep a copy on the server. It is inconsistent but it seems that it depends on the volume of email in the inbox on the server. I have tested with Pegasus (which I use) and it does not have the same issue at all. Is there a way to convert incredimail files to Pegasus so he can change clients?

Position of Junk or suspicious mail folder

Hello, I am running Pmail 4.52 and my folder tree in the Preview mode has expanded to the degree that the Junk mail folder has disappeared off the bottom of the window. Now, when i want to drag a message to this folder I first have to scroll down the tree and then drag the"offending" message to the Junk mail folder. This is a nuisance and I would like to reposition this folder near the top of the tree, say just below or above "Deleted Messages". One way to do this would be to rename the "Junk or ....." folder to something like "A_Junk ....". But the Junk mail folder is more than a place to put junk mail. So, if I rename it, how do I tell Pmail to look for "A_Junk...." instead of "Junk or ...."? Is this even possible?

Any other suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

Junk message that repeats and can't be deleted....?

All of a sudden, seemingly out of nowhere, I got an email - see image below to see what it looks like.

After about 10 second or so, another identical one arrives.  Etc. etc...

I am not able to delete the email, but when I exit out, then re-enter Pegasus, they are gone.  But then the cycle repeats.

Don't know how to set a filter to automatically get rid of it (what *are* those characters even..?), and when I enter Pegasus offline (ie. wifi off), it does the same thing.

Have tried a malware program, but none has been found.

Anyone seen this before, and know how to get rid of it..?

    Thx!

    Martin

Recurring junk message that won't delete

Am running 4.7 in Windows 10..

Strange behaviour of late, which is that when I open pegasus, I get an odd message (see below - if it doesn't show, then I've also attached it).  What makes it more odd is I can't delete it.... and then about 10 seconds later, another one appears.  Then another, etc...

When I reopen Pegasus, they're gone, but they come back.  Have tried malware, and also loading up Pegasus offline, but it still happens.

Anyone experience this at all, and... any suggestions?

     Thx

    Hi,

Opening of internet links in html emails always takes a long time until the browser starts, approximately 20 seconds. During this time Pmail seems to be froozen. Opening the same link a second time is starting the browser immediately. Has anybody an idea?

    Urgent Emails not on top

    $

    I am using Pegasus 4.71

Urgent emails in the new mail folder are now listed after unread mail.  Theoretically it is not possible, but which file might be corrupt? This only affects the new mail folder.

I use pegasus from a shared folder on the network and it only affects my profile (from any workstation).  I have a significant number of folders and 10+ years of email, so I would prefer not to damage anything.

    Hopefully someone can advise?

    ===

I'm most of the way to my "perfect solution"...

I want to be able to have two instances of Pegasus running at same time, in one machine, doing POP/SMTP to two servers on the web.

Want as much as possible "separate".

Managed to create the two users... and I use the term in the Pegasus sense, I hope. Not Identities.

Managed to create two shortcuts on desktop to invoke the program.

Included command line switches in the shortcuts....

     C:\PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -U user1 -ms

     C:\PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -U user2 -ms

But... when I dbl-click on short-cut, program launches via dialog asking me to say which user I want to start as. I would rather that was "automatic", "inside" the shortcut. I thought the -U user1 would do that for me? (Yes, I answer the "Username, please" dialog's question, during program launch, "user1" or "user2" without the quotes, and all is well.... just not automatic.)

Spell Checker Window almost off my screen

I am running Pmail V4.7 on Windows 7. It seems faster than the previous version, and I like the new improved spell checker.

However when I request the spell checker, it often puts the spell check options window on the extreme left side of my display with only a bit of the right edge of its window visible. I can drag it to another location on my display. It seems to remember the new position until I close and restart Pmail, This causes it to display the spell check window almost totally off the display.

     Is this a known bug?

How Do I Stop "**Spam**" Label on My Emails

    $
    0
    0

A few years ago some of my emails on Pegasus began coming through with the label "**Spam**" attached to them. I use Gmail and I set up no filters for spam because Gmail was tossing too many of my emails into spam when they were not spam.  So, I removed all my spam filters in Gmail so that all of my mail would come to my inbox and I could just delete any spam from there.

But Pegasus was still marking some of my mails with **Spam** and I struggled to stop that labeling. I finally figured out how to stop it and that didn't happen until again recently.  So, now some of my mail is marked with **Spam** when it should not be and I can't remember how I got rid of that label before and can't find any instructions for how to do it now.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of that label?  I don't want Gmail or Pegasus mail marking any mail as Spam or pulling them out. I want to be free to make that decision on my own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Judi

    Very slow performance

I am using Win 7 64-bit Professional and over the last month or two have had terrible performance problems with Pegasus Mail. When I download, I don't mind having some delay, but it's to the point that when I am even typing an email, typically after half a minute or minute or so I get a Windows busy icon that spins for it seems a minute or more. It is not reproducible; sometimes it happens every 30-60s, sometimes it happens ever few minutes. I changed my time period to check email to every 5m (300s) and cleaned out all lines in D:\Mail\HIERARCH.PM that have Name_Unavailable in them (there were dozens!). I've tried moving all folders from the New Mail Folder to another folder, and that speeds bringing Pegasus Mail up, but nothing that I do changes the busy spinning icon. I just went to the Pegasus Mail Information window to copy and paste my system information below, and am again in a wait cycle for, so far, about a minute. I'd love some suggestions to get back to normal usage of Pegasus Mail. Thanks!

Incomming Mails with unknown attachements Pegasus 4.7

    Hello,

we often receive Mails with attachments, that are labelled unknown and Users don't know how to open them.

Is there something like the filetype.pm, which checks outgoing files, for incoming files?

    Thank you
