Have been using PegMail for last ten years. TIME FOR NEW COMPUTER-WIN 10
Is it possible to transfer all of my various address books and distro lists to new computer as well as my mail sub folders
New installation keeps asking for USER NAME, before it will open up.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 and my Pegasus program quit working. After days of messing around with the settings I gave up and contacted my ISP for help. They require IMAP now, and walked me through the settings. I was able to download, but could not send at that time. Now, I've gotten the SEND to work, but now the downloading isn't working! I mistakenly (today) created two IMAP profiles that are the same, and can't seem to delete either one! Can somebody tell me how I can delete the profiles so I can get it right? Also, does anyone have any clues as to why I am unable to download my mail? I've played with all sorts of port and SSL combinations and my eyes are now crossing!
A couple of days ago I updated to Version 4.70, build 546. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I've had several errors pop up when I try to open some emails.
The error is:
Access violation at address oo5D9A7B in module 'winpm-32.exe'. Read of address is DDDDDE49
This does not happen will all emails and I have not been able to find in common areas with those that do have the problem. I never had this with the previous versions.
Suggestions?

I woke up this morning and discovered suddenly I can't send!
Windows 10.
Everything was working fine yesterday and for some years.
Was using Pegasus 4.70, tried installing 4.71, made no difference.
Problem appears to be that some software thinks I didn't STARTTLS, but the handshaking dialogue clearly shows it was just started! Here below is the dialogue:

Hope someone can help sort this....suddenly web links in emails do not work. When I click on a link it opens the Programs folder in my PC. It was working fine until about 4-5 days ago.
Running WinMail V4.7 on Windows 8.1.
I have gone to the Tools>Options>Incoming Mail>hyperlinks and put in the location of the web browser (C:Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
but this did not help. What's going on?
PS: if i right click on a link, it gives me the options to open either Google Chrome or Internet Explorer...it doesn't seem to see Firefox at all (my preferred browser)!

I am a loyal user because this software offers a set of features like no one else offers.
Now it has appeared a problem in a very useful feature of this program as it is the search in folders:
I can not find words or contents of messages encoded in base64:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
The search can not "see" into this messages as we can not read when checking the "raw view" of the message.
Are there any option to solve it inside the program ?

Maybe my problem is a little bit off topic but nowadays many other mail programs provide additional calendar functions. I'm interested in your solutions in connection (or not) with Mercury and/or Pmail.
Within our Windows Domain we don't have an own Exchange Server or alternative Groupware in place. Mercury in connection with Pmail is great for e-mailing and fully sufficient. And for a group calendar we are using one of our provider webmailer calendar accounts where every user has access to. But now our provider has adjusted something and since 4 days we don't have access to our calendar data. That's why we are thinking about an own simple solution for our group.
But we are not interested to purchase an inflated server system like Windows Exchange Server. We are also not interested in further Online Calendars to be hosted at external providers where we are at someone's mercy and where our data are being stored somewhere in the world (e.g. google calendar). Further we are not interested to subscribe something where we have to pay on a monthly basis.
We would like to have a small calendar group software which could be installed e.g. on our available SQL server. The calendar needs to have only one account (of course, more accounts do not harm), where all users have access to and where each user is recognizable by its own color code. Every user is able to see all other users and able to add dates or to change the dates of another user. Finally we would like to pay for the software one time only. Then it should run without thinking about.
Further we do not urgently need any online functionality where we get access by mobile phone or something like this. Important persons have VPN access from home and could access by windows computer.
Has anybody a suggestion in this regard? What are you using in your companies? We are searching the entire internet but didn't find the right solution for us.

Is there any way to stop a send process while it is still underway? Sometimes I realize I should change something in a message now being sent! We could abort a send process in Eudora, but I don't see if that is possible in Pegasus 4.70. Thanks.

I have multiple gmail and multiple yahoo addresses (as well as a few at more obscure sites). These only differ in the user name and password. Is there some way to clone (i.e., make a copy of) a pop definition and then just change these few things so that I don't have to set the port and the pop.smtp.mail etc. each time? I thought I saw something that suggested this in a help note but I can't figure out how to clone an existing definition. It's easy enough to clone an "identity," but I'm interested in cloning a "definition."

Has anybody derived a solution to sensibly work with calendar invites with pmail?
I have been using external programs like pmical and rainlendar as content viewers. Both are good in their own respect but lack the important function to actually reply to invites (accept/decline/propose new time). In todays business environment calendar invites are unfortunately become selfcontained peaces of information. People do not bother (or do not know how to set up exchange) to copy the content of invite into textual part.
So has anybody came across the lightweight solution that can integrate with pmail and manage calendar content and is able to produce VCALENDAR format response (and send it via pmail), perhaps additionally execute another app to actually import the content into own PIM?
PS - does somebody has a hint how to execute two different apps per one attachment from pmail? Like run a pmical to view the content of calendar invite and as a second choice run a rainlendar to import the calendar entry into calendar?
So, I get an email confirmation email from Instagram with some very strange properties.
First off, none of the links are clickable. I can see them, but they don't work. If I can somehow view the links themselves--in some other program?--problem solved.
But...
The email cannot be forwarded; it literally vanishes, and does not appear in the forwarded (blank) email. So I can't simply forward it to a non-PM account to see if that works. When copied and pasted, the text appears but not the links.
Also curiously, when I search all folders (header only) for the word instagram, or their no-reply address, or even a fraction of that address--this particular email does not appear in the search results.
If I fail to confirm my address, of course, the account will be closed. Their "help" pages are circular.
Anyone have any idea what's going on here, or how to see the links themselves? (And yes, hyperlinks are enabled, same settings as my other PM emails--which never have a problem.) Tried forwarding from a different PM email; no dice.

Hello, I tried creating a new mailbox on win7 using pegasus 4.7 and it does not work or i am doing something wrong.
I have old emails/folders i want to have access to and when i go thru the add mailbox to list process all I get after i am finished is the new mailbox and the INBOX that has correct emails in it.
I do not get any of the many folder the directory has. What do i need to do to fix problem?

I rarely have any problems with Pegasus, but today I've encountered something new and I'm not sure how to solve it.
While writing an email I went to a folder of 1055 saved emails from that person and chose "Start new email to sender" as I wanted to cut and paste the email address they used for that particular email. Pegasus crashed and when I went to reopen I received the usual 'do you wan to continue' option, and when I chose to do so Pegasus reopened. BUT - the folder of 1055 saved emails from that friend going back to 2007 were all corrupted in that when they were viewed the email message displayed as blank email without any headers or anything. Checking the properties for each email correctly showed the email's From, Subject and Size info. But when viewing in normal view it was all blank/white.
I searched here for solutions and found one that recommended that I create a new folder, move the emails to it. Checking the result showed no improvement.
Then, following other advice found here, I selected recover deleted space on the original folder, deleted it, re-indexed the new folder I had copied the files to. Now that new folder contains 1055 emails with From "Unknown" , Subject "Unknown, and Size "0.0k" on all of them. I assume they're now lost from the database.
I have a 2 week old backup of my mail folder. Is there a way to extract and recover the contents of just one folder from it and import it into my current mail folders? If I restore the 2 week old backup I'll then lose everything since then?
Or can I export my recent emails from the past 2 weeks and import them into that backup as perhaps there is some corruption that extends beyond that one folder.
Also, once it's done, is there any problem going back to v4.7.0? I'm just losing confidence in v4.71 as this is the second, and by far the most serious, issue that I've encountered since using the the Jan 2016 update, the first being the file attachment bug that remains unresolved.

Just a heads up to let you know that I have recently received two messages here at the office that carried a .pdf attachment containing a base64 encoded script. The decoded content of one of them was:

I had heard that .pdf files could carry malicious content but this is the first one I have actually seen (assumption: mike.exe is malicious).
These messages looked very genuine with subjects like "New order inquiry" and content like "Please find the attached PO copy and New order...".
This is social engineering at a very high level. Be careful out there!
Seemingly out of the blue, entries in the message list are underlined.
How can the underline be eliminated?
This problem occurs regularly when a message is larger than ~1.5 Mb (due to large attachments). If I double-click on such a message, it won't open. But if I click on the "Open message" icon in the mailbox toolbar, it will open. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea of what is happening? Thanks. (Pegasus 4.70 in Win7 x64)
I understand that the informational footer that optionanlly can be printed at the bottom of e-mails is not editable. However, the one that's printing on my e-mails says "Printer for , [date time page #].
How can I get it to print my name after "for ,"?

Worked fine last night and put pc to sleep.
This morning, when I went to view Pegasus, it was open, but not seen on my desktop. I can close and reopen it, but it still isn't visible. (The cursor jumps to the upper left part of my screen and it's almost as if it's open, but either minimized or off the screen!?)
I know it's running...I can check for new mail and start a new email message from the little Pegasus icon, but I can't do anything else.
Suggestions???? thnx
